Annual General Meeting 2025, March 29th 3pm
CROUCH END NEIGHBOURHOOD FORUM 2025 AGM
SATURDAY 29th MARCH 3.00 – 4.30 PM
UNION CHURCH & COMMUNITY CENTRE downstairs hall, Weston Park N8 9PX
Ever get the feeling a few environmental improvements to Crouch End might be a good thing — or attempting to locate a few new housing schemes that people can actually afford would be worthwhile?
Perhaps a new arts centre in a restored Town Hall that actually opens? Or a scheme to upgrade the town centre’s inadequate pavements, improve transport, revitalise the local economy, or simply plant a few more trees? Or to draft a Neighbourhood Plan for Crouch End.
If so, do come to our Annual General Meeting. With a new Haringey Local Plan also currently emerging, now is a good time to get involved.
In addition to reporting on key issues and developments in Crouch End we’ll be electing a new Executive Committee (details below):
- The newly appointed arts operators bringing Hornsey Town Hall back to life, will be presenting on the long awaited and soon-to-open Arts Centre. It’s the biggest happening in Crouch End in years, come with questions.
Also —
- We’ll be asking how Crouch End should spend £100s of thousands of Community Infrastructure Levy funds.
- We’ll be discussing ideas for the Crouch End Neighbourhood Plan, including design codes, setting objectives and policies for the town centre, the local environment, local heritage, and local housing priorities.
To help us manage numbers please register for a free ticket through Eventbrite (but you can still fetch up on the day). Hope to see you there. Note — refreshments 2.45, for a 3pm start.

Good to hear of scheduled AGM. I do wonder if you could articulate progress that has been made since the locus of ideas created at the neighbourhood forum last year. As a participant at the forum I was excited to see great ideas and some sense of greening the high streets being a high priority. I note that in the upcoming AGM you suggest more discussion about how to spend the local improvement funds.
I fear we run the risk of cycling in circles without a clear sense of a plan and timeframes for decisions and implementations.
I’d love to think that maybe the AGM is going to achieve more clarity around a robust plan we can then do all we can to support.
Thank you Charles for your reply. I believe the Forum has made progress. You will hear that draft policies of the Neighbourhood Plan have been drafted for consultation. A vision summary for improvements to public realm has been prepared and we propose to shortly consult on these ideas.
Hope to see you at the AGM.
Thanks
Marcus
Thanks for the update Marcus, It’s good to hear of a sense of progress. Inertia seemed one of the concerns expressed at the community forum last year. So the more we can be laying out progress and some sense of timescales the better expectations are managed and engagement nurtured.
Hi Marcus, as Charles said, there still doesn’t seem to be clear sense of how to achieve the public realm improvements. The ideas forum was held in early June 2024 and now the interactive portal on this site (that was launched in April) says it will remain open all summer 2025. It’s an awfully long time from June 2024 to September 2025 for not much to happen. I’m surprised there hasn’t been more interaction with the local councillors, TfL etc. to get some idea about what is realistic and a report back – I can’t recall verbal representation from either at the June ‘24 forum or March ‘25 AGM. Very shortly the focus of Haringey will turn to the May ‘26 election cycle and more time will be lost. Meanwhile the £600,000 sits there. After almost a decade of the CENF we should be hearing directly from the council and TfL with a formal consultation and artists’ impressions; it doesn’t appear we are even close to this.
Hi Mark, will representatives involved in the HTH development be in attendance? If so I will attend. I’m currently not in the area (as I’m waiting for the HTH flat to complete), so it would mean travelling in hence why I’m keen to know beforehand. Many thanks, Lee
Hi Lee,
No – we’re hoping that the new arts operators will be able to present, but they wouldn’t be able to speak on behalf of the developers.
We have been in touch with the Local Planning Authority and they are awaiting arts centre fit-out details, which is holding back the occupation of the final flats. If the Arts people know how the fit-out plans are progressing I’ll post details.
Hi Mark, okay thank you hopefully they give some steer on the art centre fit out details then which will unlock more info from the planning authority. Thanks so much for digging and please keep me updated, really is greatly appreciated! Lee
