YMCA report on Teams meeting 16/7/26, and further update if any:
CK reported that he and SC had attended the latest YMCA team meeting. Around 25 people had attended including local councillors. The main concerns voiced concerned potential noise and disruption from an open area that the YMCA are proposing at the rear of the hostel if and when it is redeveloped. The YMCA told the meeting there is scope to plant eight to ten trees as part of the development, that they are not planning for the new building to exceed six storeys & that they are keen to engage with CENF. The meeting agreed with MA that CENF should take a positive approach to the development, given that it is by far the biggest source of housing provision for vulnerable young adults in the west of Haringey borough,
Draft redesignation app:
Discussion of the redesignation app was postponed to September as SC, who had prepared the draft document, was unable to attend this month’s meeting
CIL: Draft report from Marcus and Nick H, and Mark’s documents
The meeting strongly endorsed the CIL draft report and agreed that, subject to minor revisions, it should be forwarded to Haringey council as soon as possible with a view to arranging a meeting with officers towards the end of August.
HTH: any update?
RG reported to the meeting that he has obtained a contact at HTH and has been in correspondence. He also agreed to contact Mark Afford to secure a handover in order to become CENF’s point of contact with HTH.
Planning applications update
DB report that a change.org petition has been launched to oppose the 16-storey tower proposed as part of the Lotus redevelopment project, which is located just outside the CENF boundary next to Hornsey station.
Completion of Neighborhood Plan
NH agreed to complete the Neighbourhood Plan document drafted by former chair Mark Afford
Tech stuff: website, mailing list etc: we need a volunteer/s
The meeting thanked FR for agreeing to take over responsibility for ongoing upkeep of the CENF website.
Date of next meeting
Next meeting scheduled for September.
