Policy thoughts – Housing
Crouch End residents’ top housing priority is provision of more affordable and appropriate housing, but there are few potential sites.
Young people and families need housing they can afford and which is the right accommodation for them, whilst older people may wish to move to homes that will support their independence – perhaps Crouch End centre flats which are accessible and adaptable, or smaller homes.
People with disabilities of all ages need properly accessible and safe homes.
Applicants for planning permission for developments should submit a Statement of Community Consultation and a Statement of Neighbour Involvement where appropriate.
Consultation to date has shown interest in a wider range of housing options, including intergenerational schemes, intentional housing such as co-operatives, co-housing or community housing, and alternative types of housing, self-built or custom-built. What do you think? What do you want to see? Let the Crouch End Neighbourhood Forum know!
The Forum is working on a series of policy options for the Neighbourhood Plan.
